In July, the Missionary Team Paulus and three other brothers went on a mission trip to Bydgoszcz, Poland. Their destination was “The Super Rally 2025.” The Super Rally is a biker festival at which thousands of bikers from all over Europe gather every year, most of them Harley-Davidson enthusiasts. Alcohol, drugs, loud music, and even louder bikes were the norm during these weeks, but of course, we wanted to give hope to these people as well.
The group arrived on Monday morning, and God connected us with a congregation that gave us access to their church, rooms, showers, and a kitchen, for which we were very grateful. We truly appreciated their hospitality. After settling in, we used Tuesday to explore the area. The festival didn’t start until the next day, but some bikers were already present. This gave us a good opportunity to start conversations and hand out the first Biker Bibles.
On Wednesday, the festival officially opened. We used a table and a pushcart full of New Testaments to reach the first arrivals. Unfortunately, it was a very hot day, and our group lost the love and motivation for this service by the end of the day. A little sad and tired, we reflected on this day, but we were able to focus our hearts in the right direction again through God’s Word.
Philippians 3:13
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.
We started again on Thursday by reading the book of Philippians and praying. This gave us new courage and high motivation to continue our work at the festival. We also developed a new plan: a literature table outside the festival.
Because the area was fenced in and we had no tickets, this seemed like a good plan. But we quickly noticed that the visitors weren’t really interested in conversations outside the festival area. Even after trying different spots for the table, we just couldn’t manage to reach the people. We knew that our best option would be to get inside the festival area. So we prayed that the security would let us in without a ticket.
Then three guys went up to the entrance to ask the security, and in a miraculous way, they just let us in! At first, only with a few Bibles in hand, we were able to spread the good news inside the festival area. After running out of Bibles, we gathered outside at our literature table again to plan the next steps. We prayed and decided to take all of our equipment inside. We went back inside, and the security didn’t say anything. We still received many critical looks, but nobody told us to leave.
Once we were fully inside, everything started to happen. We were truly surprised by the curiosity of the people. Some who hadn’t even acknowledged us the day before were now approaching with questions and asking for a Bible. We were able to talk about our testimonies in personal conversations, share the gospel, and distribute the written Word of God.
The location for our literature table was now right in the middle of the action. Nearby, there were food stands, and music was playing—this is where most of the people gathered. We met a brother in Christ who was also on a mission trip at this festival with his own Bible stand. He provided us with drinks and food, and through his connections, we were able to get official permission to stay on the area without a ticket.
In the end, we were able to give out about 500 New Testaments. We learned once again that God hears our prayers, and His ways surpass all understanding. He gifted five men with no connection to the biker scene with everything we needed to share His gospel, even when we initially lost our focus. He wants to use and empower everybody!
