Bible for the Nations

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” ESV

How it all began….

The work of Bible for the Nation began in 1994 through the contact with the Schwedish Bible Network BTA (Bible to All). It was their aim to make the New Testament available for everyone.
Relatively soon the vision arose to produce New Testaments which are specifically targeted. The trigger was a Trucker Festival where a Sunday morning service for the truckers took place. The marquee was filled with HGV drivers with their wives, who arrived especially early to hear the Gospel. The following year at the Trucker Festival, a targeted New Testament was available, the Trucker Bible along with a CD with Gospel, Blues and Country Music as well as selected Bible passages. The HGV drivers queued up to present their driving licences in order to receive this Trucker Bible and the CD.
It didn’t take long before the next project was on the go:  The Biker Bible. The first edition of the Biker Bible was published simultaneously in German and Swedish. The Biker Bible is our most widely distributed NT in Europe. Christian Biker Clubs, all over Europe are busy giving them away. The Biker Bible is now available in 23 languages and has a print run of 1.000.000 copies.

Targeted NTs are the speciality of BftN

The targeted NTs, which in the meantime are available in many languages, include,
along with the complete New Testament, 128 – 160 four-coloured pages but also life stories, contemporary prayers, interviews and information. The NT Editions are directed towards people who don’t normally go to church but belong to a particular group in society. That’s why we have for example NTs for business people, medical doctors, nurses and people from the caring profession, for metalheads, football fans and players, extreme sports people and many more. The Editions of these Bibles are compiled along with partners from these various areas of interest, just like the Truck Church Europe, The Christian Police associations, Sports person calls Sports person, Christian Unions, Biker Church Europe among others.
The second aspect are the foreign language NTs and Bibles which we are able to produce at a reasonable cost. Together with other Mission Agencies we are able print NTs and Bibles in large quantities in the mother tongue of refugees, e.g. Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Tigrinja, Amharic, Albanian and many for languages.

Each one of us can rise to the challenge of being a ‘Bible Distributor’. There are many people in your area who have never owned a NT. You are most welcome to support the Bible Distribution by praying for us and/or support us financially by making a donation.

It is now the lingua franca of the Arab world. It is named after the Arabs, a term initially used to describe people groups living in the area bordering Mesopotamia in the east and the Anti-Lebanon mountains in the west, Northwestern Arabia and the Sinai Peninsula. The ISO assigns language codes to thirty varieties of Arabic, including its standard form, Modern Standard Arabic, also referred to as Literary Arabic, which is modernized Classical Arabic. This distinction exists primarily among Western linguists; Arabic speakers themselves generally do not distinguish between Modern Standard Arabic and Classical Arabic, but rather refer to both as al-ʿarabiyyatu l-fuṣḥā (اَلعَرَبِيَّةُ ٱلْفُصْحَىٰ, "the purest Arabic") or simply al-fuṣḥā (اَلْفُصْحَىٰ).    It is estimated that 313 million people speak Arabic as their mother tongue and another 424 million as a second or foreign language.Arabic Bible (R)NAV Copyright © 1988 by Biblica, Inc.TM
