News from Portugal /Faro 2008 was the best ever
2008-07-22

Faro 2008 was the best ever...not only in terms of the MC's organization and great infrastructures this year, but CMA Portugal was well organized, efficient, united, a true team and the Holy Spirit cooperated with us to bring about much fruit.

We had a professional firm mount a stand for us, we took down a great van (the one that went to Russia) loaded with equipment and bibles, and when we got their our southern chapter "King's Riders" had everything ready for immediate set-up. The spot they chose for our campsite was one of the best and just behind the stand!

Once we set up the stand and got settled we began working on organizing the stand. Our decision this year was to let people approach us by coming to the stand instead of us actually going out to them. And they came ... by the hundreds ... looking for the Bible. The testimonies are too numerous to share. But we can tell stories of one man that accepted Jesus with tears in his eyes and was led to the Lord by one of our ladies who did so with "fear and trembling" because in her church women only minister to women. Or the Catholic priest that participated in our Sunday morning service by saying a few words and afterwards commented "I want to be a Christian just like you,,,you have something we Catholics lack! Can you please come to my parish and minister the Gospel" There's the story of the backslidden pastor and his new wife (him 53 and she 24) that had a power encounter with God. He rededicated his life and she made a first time commitment. She was baptised in the ocean the next day. They both traded their "outlaw" jackets with all the wrong patchwork for new jackets hoping to begin working on the process to become CMA'ers. There's the story of the three devout Catholics, the priest's parishioners, who tearfully gave their lives to Jesus during the service. I could go on and on. God was powerfully at work in Faro!

Two of our prospects received their colours at Faro, good, wonderful and quality men of God, and another member who had been disciplined was reinstated and received his colours back during a moving ceremony. There was a time for vision casting and promotion os unity and harmony among the members. In total between members, prospects and friends that occupied our campsite we had about 55 people.

A great bonus was that António Rosado and his Aguilas de Cristo joined us and how precious was their help. A record number of Spaniards came. Without any doubt we must have a Spanish language Biker Bible printed this year with testimonies of Spanish (not Latin American) bikers and the Aguila details.

PLUS, we raised the full amoun to pay for all of the Biker Bibles! Two years ago it took almost one year to raise the money for 10,000 Biker Bibles...this year the 2nd edition of 10,000 was considered paid for as we entered Faro!

For all these things we give glory and honour and praise to the only One worthy, Jesus Our Lord.
